Douglas Hadley
I was born and raised in a small town in Northeast Indiana. I began my college experience in North Central Indiana at Goshen College (Goshen, IN). I was not college material and only lasted one year. I transferred to Hesston College (Hesston, Kansas) where I began getting myself together and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in spirituality. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Taylor University (Upland, IN) I attended Christian Theological Seminary (Indianapolis, IN) where I received my Master of Divinity degree. I was fully ordained as a pastor in the United Methodist Church in 1991. I served in churches throughout Northern and Central Indiana until early retirement in 2008.
Somewhere along this journey, I developed a passion for learning, reading, and writing. I think it was an attempt to discover my true self. In recognizing my brokenness and searching for my true self the light began to creep into my heart and soul. I received a life coaching certification because I have a passion for helping others discover their true self.
I am about learning and growing. As you can see on my books page, I have written five books of four different genres: Motivational, Memoir, Historical Fiction and two Novels. The connecting thread is that they are all challenging and offer lessons to be learned.
My blog page will feature the same – lessons to be learned helping us experience all life has to offer. They will be challenging, sometimes controversial, but there will always be a lesson to be applied to your life. Will you always agree with me? I hope not. Our growth comes from disagreement and challenge. I hope you will challenge me with questions so I have the opportunity to learn as well.
I look forward to our journey together.
